Video Playground
Welcome back to another great week here at the Bastion Brief. Please check out our latest videos on the Bastion Brief Channel and subscribe to get updates when new content comes your way!
In this week's edition, we will explore building skills using video across the available technology platforms users use to connect over the internet. Have you ever tested out making short format videos, long video guides, or live streaming? If you're a business owner and not currently working on video content, now is the perfect time to start. Most users online love video content and prefer platforms like TikTok & Instagram.
Want to know the secret for creating good video content?
It's creating a baseline and then troubleshooting. Video content creation is tough and takes time. Most users are discouraged by the complicated tools, editing sessions, or compare their videos to massive personalities online. The secret is actually just building on your recording skills, adding new features, and testing to see what works. I personally have spent a ton of time testing out video production tools, adding elements to scenes, and then trading them out for updated versions. The best way to get involved in video content, is by just trying it and taking feedback from others.
Last week, I began an adventure on Twitch to livestream and encourage some students playing games to learn about cyber security and information technology. Last night, I was able to hit some of the basic streamer goals. Throughout the process, I have been asking questions and taking user feedback to boost the quality of my microphone, lighting sources, and transitions. If you're interested in tuning in, my channel is under FalseStreams.
The secret for my success lies in approaching it with a playground mentality. If you can test your skills in an environment without pressure, you can create a solid foundation that may transition to the workplace environment. You may take on a responsibility for more pay with your company or be able to shift your role to one that feels more like home.
My tips for becoming king of the video playground:
Attempt to keep up with the latest trends in video by publishing on the most popular platforms. If you're a business, invest in the creativity of your team. You never know what video campaign may bring attention to your products or services.
Test, test, test. Create new scenes, use innovative programs, and keep building on the feedback you receive from others. You are bound to increase your production skills which will make editing easier down the line.
Continue to teach others. If you are a wizard of the video space, consider selling guides or tools that can help others succeed in the space. You have the ability to turn your current knowledge into a great resource for others.
Thank you for joining me this week and I hope to hear from you in the comments. See you next time!
